The T129 ATAK Helicopter was developed to fulfill the attack helicopter requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces, leveraging Türkiye's specific national capabilities.
As part of the contract signed with the Defence Industry Agency on September 7, 2007, Turkish Aerospace assumed the role of the prime contractor, taking responsibility for platform development, system integration, testing and verification, serial production, and life cycle logistics support.
The mission and weapon systems of the T129 ATAK Helicopter were developed using national capabilities, aligning with the operational needs of the Turkish Armed Forces. The performance of the T129 ATAK Helicopter has been optimized for challenging “hot and high” missions, effectively supporting the operations of the Turkish Armed Forces with its high maneuverability and performance in both day and night conditions.
