In order to meet Turkish Air Force (TurAF) requirements beyond 2030s, an indigenous design and development program aims to replace the aging F-16 fleet of TurAF.
HÜRJET is designed to operate at a maximum speed of Mach 1.4 and a maximum altitude of 45,000 feet, and is equipped with state-of-the-art mission and flight systems.
In addition to pilot training requirements, it has been developed to enable light attack and armed reconnaissance missions to be carried out at low cost and with high precision.
In accordance with the contract signed between SSB and Turkish Aerospace in Dec. 2006, the avionic system of 13 C-130E and 6 C-130B aircraft of TurAF is being modernized.
Within the project, Turkey purchases four B737 AEW&C aircraft and GSS. Turkish Aerospace will conclude Modification, System installation, Tests and Delivery.
