In carrying out their duties, TUSAŞ employees act in accordance with the principles of integrity, transparency, fairness and accountability; they prioritise the interests of TUSAŞ over their personal interests; and in their professional dealings, they demonstrate a responsible, ethical and environmentally conscious approach towards all stakeholders.
The “TUSAŞ Ethical Principles” set out below, which TUSAŞ employees must adhere to as part of their responsibilities, are binding on all TUSAŞ employees.
Transparency
Transparency, as the fundamental indicator of honesty in business relationships, is an inseparable part of Turkish Aerospace’s corporate values. Turkish Aerospace employees act in all their relationships in accordance with the principle of transparency and take as a basis the provision of objective, accurate, up-to-date, and fact-based information in their communications. While this principle requires clear and accurate disclosure to the relevant stakeholders in all business operations and transactions, Turkish Aerospace employees are expected to meticulously observe the professional limits required to protect defense industry security, confidentiality provisions, Turkish Aerospace’s sensitive technical data, and trade secrets, given that the defense and aerospace sector entails much higher obligations regarding security, confidentiality, and the protection of sensitive information than many other sectors.
Fairness
Fairness is one of the fundamental elements of Turkish Aerospace’s corporate culture and is essential for the sustainability of trust-based business relationships. Turkish Aerospace employees adopt, as a corporate value, a fair, impartial, and consistent approach toward relevant parties in all transactions and operations they conduct. Turkish Aerospace is committed to observing equal opportunity in all processes, remaining bound by objective criteria in decision-making mechanisms, and taking the necessary steps to eliminate identified instances of unfairness.
Integrity
Integrity forms the foundation of Turkish Aerospace’s corporate culture. Turkish Aerospace employees display a consistent, accurate, honest, trustworthy, open, and responsible approach both within Turkish Aerospace and in all business relationships carried out on behalf of Turkish Aerospace. By maintaining consistency between words and actions, each Turkish Aerospace employee contributes to strengthening an environment of trust among colleagues, business partners, and other stakeholders.
Accountability
Accountability aims not only to ensure compliance with legislation, but also to strengthen corporate trust, ethical culture, and sustainable success. Turkish Aerospace adopts the principle of accountability in all its activities as a fundamental element of its corporate governance approach. In line with this principle, decisions taken, actions carried out, and resources used must be clear, traceable, and justifiable within the framework of authorities, responsibilities, and job descriptions. Turkish Aerospace employees act with the awareness that they are responsible for all activities carried out within the scope of their duties and authorities and, where necessary, provide accurate, complete, and timely information and explanations regarding such activities.
Prevention of Discrimination and Harassment
Turkish Aerospace is committed to a fair, safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment for all employees; it is essential to preserve a workplace in which private life is respected, different views and opinions can be expressed freely, and professional communication is maintained. Discrimination, exclusionary practices, or any conduct that undermines the dignity and reputation of employees are strictly prohibited in business relationships conducted both within and outside Turkish Aerospace. Discrimination on the basis of language, race, color, gender, political opinion, belief, religion, sect, age, pregnancy, disability, or any similar personal characteristic is incompatible with Turkish Aerospace’s ethical and corporate principles. In this context, all forms of physical, sexual, verbal, or emotional harassment are strictly prohibited. No tolerance whatsoever is shown toward systematic conduct amounting to psychological harassment (mobbing), aimed at intimidating, excluding, discrediting, alienating from work, or forcing an employee to resign. The reporting of situations that even give rise to a suspicion of harassment or discrimination is encouraged, and each report is evaluated within the framework of confidentiality, seriousness, and impartiality.
Protection of Information and Data Confidentiality
Information security is regarded as an integral part of compliance with laws in every environment in which Turkish Aerospace operates. Turkish Aerospace employees are obliged to protect the confidentiality and integrity of all information and data acquired within the scope of their duties. This obligation is not merely a technical requirement, but also a fundamental requirement of respect for the law and commitment to ethical rules. In this context, the confidentiality-related obligations of Turkish Aerospace employees are legally binding under the Defence Industry Security Law No. 5202, the relevant secondary legislation, ITAR/EAR export control regulations, other applicable and binding foreign laws in force in the countries where Turkish Aerospace operates, provisions on the protection of personal data, and Turkish Aerospace’s confidentiality agreements, and these obligations continue even after they leave Turkish Aerospace.
Due to the nature of defense industry activities, much of the information and data within Turkish Aerospace is highly sensitive; unauthorized access or disclosure may harm national security, result in the disclosure of trade secrets, create sanctions and compensation risks, or impose severe legal and financial liabilities on Turkish Aerospace. Accordingly, Turkish Aerospace employees may share technical data, project files, contract-related documents, designs, process information, and all other controlled content only with persons who need to know them as required by their duties, and they must fully comply with confidentiality classifications and access restrictions. No Turkish Aerospace employee may use information for his or her own benefit or for the benefit of third parties, nor transfer controlled technical data subject to ITAR/EAR or other binding foreign regulations to unauthorized persons, institutions, or countries. Compliance with this principle is not only a legal obligation, but also one of the cornerstones of Turkish Aerospace’s culture of ethical conduct and corporate integrity.
Respect for Human Rights
Turkish Aerospace adopts respect for internationally recognized human rights as a fundamental ethical principle in all its activities. In relations with all stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, and business partners, Turkish Aerospace considers respect for human dignity, equal treatment, non-discrimination, and the provision of safe working conditions to be essential. Turkish Aerospace employees do not permit any human rights violation, including forced labor, child labor, human trafficking, harassment, mistreatment, and modern slavery, and exercise due care to prevent similar practices in the supply chain. All human rights risks that may arise within the scope of Turkish Aerospace’s operations and business relationships are handled with the utmost seriousness, and situations raising suspicion of a violation are reported immediately to the necessary authorities.
Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption
Turkish Aerospace applies a zero-tolerance policy against bribery, corruption, improper benefit, and unethical use of influence in all its business activities and transactions. Turkish Aerospace employees may neither directly nor indirectly offer, request, or accept any material or non-material benefit to or from third parties for the purpose of influencing business relationships. This principle applies across all areas of activity, including relations with public officials, public procurement, supply processes, consultancy services, and international business partnerships.
Turkish Aerospace employees are obliged to fully comply with applicable national legislation, international anti-corruption regulations, and the relevant Turkish Aerospace policies and procedures. All payments, donations, sponsorships, representation, and hospitality activities made on behalf of the Company must be transparent, properly recorded, and carried out in compliance with legal requirements.
Any suspicious transaction, unusual request, or suspicion of bribery must be reported immediately through the Ethics Line reporting channels, and employees making such reports shall not, under any circumstances, be subjected to adverse treatment.
