Osman Demirci was born in 1963 in Artvin. He completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University in 1986, followed by earning his master's degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1991 and his doctoral degree in 1995. His career began as an Electrical Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Corporation/Siemens between 1995 and 1999. Later, he served as a Principal Engineer at American Electric Power from 1999 to 2004. Between 2004 and 2007, he held the position of Vice President at the Republic of Türkiye Privatization Administration, followed by his role as Energy Coordinator at Akfen Holding from 2007 to 2008.
From 2009 to 2017, Demirci served as Advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of Energy. He then worked as General Manager at Hanwha-Kalyon Güneş Teknolojileri Üretim A.Ş. from 2017 to 2019, and as Assistant General Manager at TR Motor A.Ş. from 2019 to 2020. Since 2020, he has been serving as the Coordinator of TEI Subsystems Technology Development Department and Advisor to the General Manager. Concurrently, between 2020 and 2024, he pursued an academic career as a lecturer at OSTİM Technical University, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics.
Throughout his career, Demirci also held notable positions such as General Manager and Chairman of the Board at TETAŞ from 2011 to 2012, and Board Member of BİRECİK HES A.Ş. from 2012 to 2016.
As of June 11, 2024, following a decision made at the 2023 Ordinary General Assembly meeting, he continues to serve as a Board Member at Turkish Aerospace.
