Born in 1962 in Hendek, Sakarya, Ömer Cihad Vardan graduated from Istanbul Technical University with a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1983. He completed his master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering at Ohio State University, USA, in 1986.
He took part as a research engineer in the formation of the Engineering Research Center (ERC), which was established in 1985 at the same university to operate in the field of final shape manufacturing. Later, he continued his career at Kalekalıp A.Ş. as a manufacturing engineer for Stinger missiles. Vardan currently serves as the Chairman of the Board at Çukurova Isı A.Ş., a prominent company he co-founded with family members in 1991, specializing in industrial and commercial heating systems, as well as open space and process heating technologies.
In addition to his professional career, Vardan has held senior positions in various non-governmental organizations. He served as the Fourth Term President of the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) from 2008 to 2012. Between 2013 and 2023, he was President of the Association of Heating Appliances Industry and Businesspeople (DOSIDER) and served as an Assembly Member in both the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) and the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), and as a Member of the TOBB Air Conditioning Assembly. He served as the Chairman of the Board of the Economic Development Foundation (İKV) between 2013 and 2015 and was also a member of Türkiye's first Human Rights Board. Ömer Cihad Vardan served as the President of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) from 2014 to 2017. During his tenure, he played a key role in restructuring DEİK and shaping it into its current form, alongside prominent figures in Türkiye's business community.
Vardan, who also served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Medeniyet University Support Foundation (IMUDEV), is currently a member of the High Advisory Board of MÜSİAD and the Architects and Engineers Group (MMG).
Ömer Cihad Vardan is married and has two children. He is fluent in English.
Between May 13, 2022, and June 10, 2024, Vardan served as the Vice Chairman of the Board at Turkish Aerospace. Following the decision made at the 2023 Ordinary General Assembly meeting, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Board since June 11, 2024.
