The civil certification process of the T625 GÖKBEY General Utility Helicopter, developed and manufactured by Turkish Aerospace using national and indigenous resources, has been successfully completed. Following the completion of the process, the T625 GÖKBEY General Utility Helicopter was awarded a type certificate in the “CS-29 Large Rotorcraft” category by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The type certificate for the T625 GÖKBEY was presented on March 16, 2026, at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, President of Defence Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, Director General of Civil Aviation Kemal Yüksek, and our CEO Dr. Mehmet Demiroğlu. T625 GÖKBEY made its mark on Turkish civil aviation history as the first national aircraft capable of carrying civilian passengers.
As part of the certification process, for which the initial application was submitted in 2016, numerous compliance verification activities were carried out, including design reviews, engineering analyses, ground tests and flight tests. Having demonstrated that its design complies with certification specifications and that it meets the required safety standards for civil operations, T625 GÖKBEY became the first and only national helicopter to receive this certificate.
This certification, which also represents a highly significant step for T625 GÖKBEY’s export activities, has established the technical foundation necessary for the helicopter to gain acceptance in international markets and operate in different countries.
