The International Defense, Aviation, and Space Industry Fair, SAHA EXPO, was held at the Istanbul Expo Center from October 22 to 26, 2024.
Held every two years under the auspices of the Presidency, SAHA EXPO is supported by the participation of both civilian and military public institutions. Turkish Aerospace attended the event with full-scale models of its T625 GÖKBEY Multirole Utility Helicopter and HÜRJET Advanced Jet Trainer.
The Turkish Aerospace booth also featured 1:7 scale models of the Turkish Fighter KAAN, HÜRKUŞ Advanced Trainer, T129 ATAK Multirole Combat Aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles including ANKA, AKSUNGUR, and ANKA III. Additionally, models of the GÖKTÜRK Very High Resolution Electro-Optical Satellite System, GÖKTÜRK-3, and TÜRKSAT 6A satellites were displayed, drawing significant interest from visitors. A dedicated KAAN Experience Zone was established at the booth, allowing attendees to explore the Turkish Fighter KAAN in greater depth.
Condemning All Forms of Terrorism
During the SAHA EXPO event, a heinous terrorist attack was carried out by a bloodthirsty terror organization targeting Turkish Aerospace. On October 23, 2024, the attack on Turkish Aerospace’s Kahramankazan facilities claimed the lives of five individuals, including four Turkish Aerospace employees and a taxi driver.
In the wake of this tragic incident, Türkiye’s entire defense industry united in solidarity with Tuyrkish Aerospace, expressing their support. Many visitors to the SAHA EXPO paid their respects at the Turkish Aersopace booth.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan personally visited the Turkish Aerospace booth to offer his condolences. Several high-ranking officials, including Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, and Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, also visited the booth to lay carnations in memory of the victims.
